Shruti Haasan, Siddharth In A Disney Film

Bollywood starlet and Kamal Haasan’s daughter, Shruti Haasan, is playing Siddharth’s love interest in Walt Disney’s yet untitled Telugu-Tamil action adventure film. Disney made an announcement to this effect at a press conference in Bombay on March 11. The actors had recently shifted base to Bombay.

The fantasy adventure film, based on folklore, will see Siddharth as a blind swordsman while Shruti will play a gypsy woman. The film is already half-complete. Shruti told KoiMoi, “It’s a very exciting project for me as I hail from the South.” On her future Bollywood ventures, she said, “I am looking at various scripts right now but haven’t zeroed in on anything.”

The Disney film will see a January 2011 release. It is being directed by National Award winner Prakash Rao and produced by K. Raghavendra Rao.
