Fans of longest-running TV show, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, were all pumped up when the news of Disha Vakani AKA Dayaben returning to the show broke out! Disha indeed is returning to the show, as anticipated during the Navratri season but there’s a twist which leads to her delay!
It all started when Jethalal had been too keen on having his wife back and refused to celebrate Navratri until she’s back. Following this, the Gokuldham ladies call Dayaben’s brother, Sunderlal, to bring her back. Here comes the real twist!

Sunderlal does bring Dayaben AKA Disha Vakani back but for that, Jethalal will have to go through an ‘agnee pariksha’ and find his lady love amongst several women in festive avatars with their face hidden behind dupattas! Will he be successful?

Meanwhile, it is also being said that the delay may be longer as Disha has shot for a scene which is a one-sided phone conversation, which means we may not see her on-screen yet, and don’t know for how longer. However, producer Assit Modi has confirmed her return in a conversation with Times of India as he revealed, “We are positive that Disha will make a comeback on the show as Daya. It might take a month’s time. Time and again, we have been asking her to be back on the show. However, she wasn’t ready and told us, ‘Meri beti abhi chhoti hai, how can I leave her alone?” But now, she seems to have made up her mind to make a comeback”.
