One of the 90’s popular and loved mythological show Ramayan returned on TV last month on Doordarshan channel. The show till date enjoys a massive fanbase. Turns out people are excited to enjoy it with their families as they did 2 decades ago. This mythological drama features Arun Govil as Lord Ram, Dipika Chikhlia as Sita, Sunil Lahri as Lakshman and late actor Dara Singh as Lord Hanuman.

On TV, Ramayan is breaking all the records and giving a great TRP to Doordarshan. On the other hand, on the internet, it has paved a way for funny memes. These memes feature scenes and dialogues of Lord Ram, Lakshman and Lord Hanuman used in day-to-day situations. Some people even shared how the title track is relating to their life.

Meanwhile, when it was announced that the show is returning on DD channel, actor Arun Govil opened up on the show and how playing the character affected his career. He also shared his happiness of the show returning to TV. Arun had told PTI earlier, “After ‘Ramayan’, my film career was almost over. I was doing films before. But the image was so strong that the films didn’t happen. I tried working in serials and tried to come out of the image but it didn’t work.”

He added, “I realised later that maybe God wanted me to be ‘Ram’, how many have been given this rare chance? People don’t call me Arun Govil, they call me ‘Ram’ and it is a big thing.”
