Recently, Ekta Kapoor confirmed that Nia Sharma, Vijayendra Kumeria and Rashami Desai’s Naagin 4 will go off air. Naagin 5 plans are in talks already without the previous season ending abruptly. Since, then, fans have been waiting to know who will lead the fifth season of this supernatural drama.
If you were hoping that either Nia Sharma or Rashami Desai will lead the 5th season, you are going to be disappointed. As reported by Pinkvilla, Balaji Telefilms is looking for a new face to play the main character in Naagin 5. The 5th season will star actress Mahek Chahal.
A source told the portal that the makers have approached the former Bigg Boss contestant already and discussed the show. As the channel has cut down 30% of production cost for everyone, they want a new face for Naagin 5. This will help them to not hire someone who’s expensive. However, when they contacted Mahek, she denied being a part of Naagin 5. But the source informed that she is playing the lead for sure.

Meanwhile, in the video Ekta Kapoor shared about ending Naagin 4, she apologised to Nia, and Vijayendra. Kapoor said, “he amount of calls I have got on Naagin 4 and 5 even after Mukta gave an interview, I just thought I will say this. We are in quarantine, guys. After three months when we start a show, it’s very difficult to pick up a story, especially when it’s a start to finish one like Naagin. So we will end Naagin 4 with a fantastic finale and then go into Naagin 5. As far as the actors go, I think I somehow let them down a little bit. I think I could have done a better job in the scripting. And I didn’t. So Nia, Jasmin I promise I will call you guys with better and interesting roles. Sorry for this. Sorry to Vijayendra also.”
