Amazon Prime Video’s Mirzapurwitnessed a tremendous response upon its release in 2018. Featuring Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyendu Sharma and Vikrant Massey in key roles, the web show has built a cult following and is arguably, the biggest Indian hit on OTT.

Unknown to many, Abhishek Banerjee who played the role of compounder named Subodh, was also the casting director of Mirzapur. Abhishek has also been part of Bollywood films like Ayushmann Khurrana’s Dream Girl and Bala.

Speaking of Mirzapur 2, the release date is finally out, which is 23rd October 2020.
Meanwhile, according to reports in IWMBuzz, Pankaj Tripathi recently spoke about his experience of working amid Coronavirus lockdown. He said “I went out for the first time after the lockdown to do the dubbing for Mirzapur 2. The work atmosphere felt very strange, Everyone was in masks, no hugs no warm greeting after so many months. Everyone is scared.”
Pankaj is proud of the way Mirzapur has turned out. “The sequel is sharper much more polished than the first part. I don’t know when it will be streamed. But there is a lot of interest in the series.”
