Asha Negi is all over the headlines currently. Recently, her ZEE5 series Abhay 2 hit the digital screens. She was seen donning the role of an investigative journalist and received a lot of appreciation for it. The actress spoke to Koimoi exclusively about her show, split with Rithvik Dhanjani and so much more.
For the unversed, Asha and Rithvik first met on the sets of Pavitra Rishta. They turned household names in no time and struck the chords pretty soon. They’ve even been a part of Nach Baliye together and emerged as the winners. Despite all the love, the couple decided to split.
It was during May 2020 when Asha Negi announced her split from Rithvik Dhanjani. The actress has been quite private about her personal life. In a rare interaction, she spoke about her split and the difficult time they went through.
Asha Negi shared, “There is no hatred, no hard feelings. Of course, it was a very difficult time when it happened. It was like a regular breakup. It was not like hum ache ache hai and humne bola ki ‘chal tu, apne raste mai apne raste.’ It was very painful and a very hard time for me as well as Rithvik. But I guess now, we’re trying to move out of it and the mourning period. I really hope he only grows for the better.”
But it is commendable how the couple always roots for each other. Recently, Asha celebrated her 31st birthday and Rithvik posted a beautiful wish for her. When asked about how their relationship has evolved over time, Negi answered, “Mine as well as Rithvik’s thought always is no matter if we are not spending our lives together as life partners or as lovers, but that love, respect and friendship should never go away. Why go away? We have so much love for each other. We only wish the best for each other. So I believe that should never die and we should always remain each other’s well wishers.”
