Euphoria 3 will not release anytime soon! Yes, the HBO series, which was already delayed, has now been postponed even more. Created by Sam Levinson, it stars Zendaya as Rue, Jacob Elordi as Nate, Sydney Sweeney as Cassie, Maude Apatow as Alexis, Alexa Demie as Maddy, Hunter Schafer as Jules along with Storm Reid, Eric Danes, Dominic Fike, Colman Domingo and Nika King.
As reported by The Wrap, HBO said in a statement that the delay occurred due to scripting issues. Sam Levinson will make changes to the Euphoria 3 story. The characters will now move out of high school in the third season. Till then, the cast can work on any other projects coming their way. So the Zendaya starrer is not releasing in 2025 as expected. We have listed some predictions for our characters and what their life will be like after high school.
Our Euphoria 3 Plot Predictions –
Rue Will Be At the Rehab
Even though it was hinted that things would be okay, chances are they might get worse for Rue. She has relapsed in the past, and even after high school, the same might happen. Rue is someone who cannot adapt to changes easily, and the end of high school is a big deal. So, in Euphoria 3, we might see her either seeking treatment or being forced into rehab due to her struggle with drugs. Zendaya’s character also owes a lot of money to drug dealer, Laurie. So that’s another threat looming around her!
Jacob Elordi is a busy actor and has some interesting films coming up. There’s only so much Sam Levinson can do with Nate Jacobs now. Everyone knows what a ridiculous person he is, and he seems fed up with his own drama. We have hardly seen any growth in Nate’s character in season 2. So, chances are that Nate will move away and make rare appearances just because Jacob’s contract is still in effect.

No More Maddy & Cassie Friendly Moments
Cassie did something no friend should ever do – date her best friend’s ex! Despite knowing how abusive and horrible Nate was towards Maddy, Cassie went behind her BFFs back and dated him. So, we might not see any friendly vibes between Maddy and Cassie. With Barbie Ferreira’s Kat also out of the show, Maddy and Hunter Schafer’s Jules might become the new best friend duo. We also saw how understanding they’ve been towards each other in season 2.
Sydney Sweeney’s career has taken a great plunge, and rightly so! The talented actress is doing well in movies. So, we might also see Cassie fade away a bit from the central premise. But fans love Sydney, so let’s hope Sam surprises us all.

Alexis, aka Lexi Will Be Alone
Rue has always prioritised drugs over people, so she might even forget that Lexi used to be her closest friend. With Angus Cloud’s demise, the character of Fez might not exist anymore in Euphoria 3, unless the makers decide to cast someone new. Lexi will be all alone again, observing other people as she tries to deal with her own loss and pain.
