After much speculation, James Gunn confirms that the first look of The Suicide Squad will be released at DC FanDome
Filmmaker James Gunn on Wednesday told fans that the first look of The Suicide Squad will arrive at DC FanDome which is scheduled later this month. The announcement comes after much speculation in recent months. Reportedly, the fans can expect an ensemble with a mix of new and familiar faces in the upcoming project.
The filmmaker also took to Twitter to confirm that the glimpse of the movie will be released during his panel at the DC-only virtual convention. The confirmation came in response after a fan asked whether the studio meddled with his work.
Gunn also promoted the event on social media claiming that the DC FanDome will witness other exciting information apart from the movie he’s helming.

In another tweet, Gunn also confirmed that the film Suicide Squad is gearing up for its August releasing date next year. He said, “Nothing about #TheSuicideSquad has changed either. We will be ready for our release on August 6, 2021. Until then, you can come see us at #DCFanDome at the end of this month to see lots of cool stuff!”

The film The Suicide Suad is a cross between a reboot and a sequel to its 2016 film. Even though the filmmaker has maintained silence about what will go down in his DC film, few things are clear. As for instance, the movie will retain the established characters from 2016’s Suicide Squad. Returning faces could be Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Amanda Waller (Viola Davis), Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman), and Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney). Few other newcomers like Taika Waititi, Idris Elba, John Cena, Pete Davidson, Nathan Fillion, Peter Capaldi, and Michael Rooker are also expected.
Fans all over the world are eagerly waiting for the FanDome event which is scheduled Saturday, August 22nd. Creators from all facets of DC Comics, including film, television, comics, animation, video games, and more are expected to attend the event.
