It has been a month since Madame Web was released in theatres. The superhero movies stars Dakota Johnson, Sydney Sweeney, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, Adam Scott, Emma Roberts and Celeste O’Connor. The movie mostly received negative reviews from the critics. Even the audience wasn’t impressed with the female superhero saga.

Directed by S.J. Clarkson, everyone was excited to see Spider-Women on the big screen when Madame Web was announced. However, the movie mainly focused on Dakota Johnson’s Cassie Webb, whereas the three girls, who were supposed to be Spider-women, had no powers till the end. Actress Sydney Sweeney, who plays Julia Carpenter in the film, has now opened up about the film’s failure.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Sydney Sweeney was asked how Madame Web was mocked after its release. The actress responded, “I was just hired as an actress in it, so I was just along for the ride for whatever was going to happen.” Earlier, Sydney even joked about the film’s fate on Saturday Night Live (SNL). In her monologue, Sydney joked that people must have seen her in Anyone But You and Euphoria, but definitely not in Madame Web.
