Here is a piece of awesome news for FMV gamers. Popular game maker Paolo Pedercini has used the footage from the 1996 game Steven Spielberg’s Director’s Chair and converted it into a “Bandersnatch-style Choose Your Own Movie.”

After directing classic movies like Jurassic Park and Schindler’s List, Spielberg invested in the growing art of video games. In 1996, he helped produce new releases Someone’s in the Kitchen!, Goosebumps: Escape from HorrorLand, The Neverhood, and, Steven Spielberg’s Director’s Chair.

Steven Spielberg’s Director’s Chair had Spielberg himself walk players through the process of making a motion picture from pre-production to the film’s premiere. But Spielberg’s attempt into FMV gaming didn’t work much as the game was very complicated for users. Even critics didn’t like it much and gave it 2.5/5 stars. According to Computer Gaming World it “tries too hard to be accessible, telling you where to go, what to do, and when to do it. When it could challenge you with tough decisions, it irritates you instead.”
