Popular American singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey has been slammed by netizens for sharing a minute-long clip from George Floyd Protests in Los Angeles. Lana who has whopping 16.5 Million followers on Instagram shared a video of people looting amid #BlackLivesMatter protest in Los Angeles where she too protested this past weekend.
Things didn’t go well from there on for Lan Del Rey as she was slammed by netizens for posting the video clip.
#LanaDelRey ‘s Instagram post is disturbing me right now. No links, no comments enabled, no means to donate so as to make use of that WAY TOO BIG platform of hers. Just posting videos to appear woke while putting protestors in danger. I’m over it.

@lanadelrey what the fuck! Lana I thought you were all about culture but I guess not , you’re all about stealing it and using it from yourself. You even deliberately showed faces of protestors , exposing them to danger . #blacklivesmatter #lanadelrey #ALLLIVESMATER #chicano #LA pic.twitter.com/5q9lQw599z

Apart from netizens, even Lana Del Rey’s singer colleagues, Tinashe and Kehlani took to their social media handles to express their disappointment over the clip shared by Summertime Sadness singer.
Kehlani had a tweet that read, “Please remove your Instagram post it’s dangerous as f*ck and a very poor choice of moments to post. by all means protest, but DO NOT endanger people with your very massive platform. oh and turn on your f*cin comments on man”
Following which Tinashe tweeted, “@LanaDelRey why the f*ck are you posting people looting stores on your page literally WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM”
After a series of tweets and receiving backlash from netizens Lana Del Rey deleted the video following which Kehlani and Tinashe too deleted their respective tweets.
But it didn’t end there, Lana Del Rey re-posted cut-down footage still beginning with a male protester standing on a burnt-out car, holding a sign that read, ‘No justice, No peace’.
On being informed about the same by netizens Kehlani was in complete shock, as she tweeted, ” i was told the post was deleted and that was my point so i deleted the tweet but i guess it’s not deleted it’s just reposted ? leaving it up on my story but hopefully if she gets enough dm’s she will take it completely down.”
Lana Del Rey also has been in the news from the past few days following her insensitive comments regarding female artists of color.
Talking about George Floyd Protests and #BlackLivesMatter Protests, people took down the streets across the US in opposition to police brutality after a tragic incident took place at Minneapolis where four police officers arrested a man named George Floyd. On May 25, George died after one of the police officers kneeled down on his neck till the time he got choked to death.
