According to the latest update, the Marvel movie has ended its pre-sales for the September 25-27 period. It also held previews on Thursday, over just 4k screenings. For the unversed, the Robert Downey Jr. starrer collected $3.1 million in pre-sales at the box office in China. On its Thursday previews, the film raked in $975k at the Chinese box office.

Beats Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3’s pre-sales total in China
According to box office analyst Luiz Fernando‘s report, Avengers: Endgame has beaten the pre-sales totals of multiple MCU movies, including Black Panther: Wakanda Forever ($1.1 million), The Marvels ($1.5 million), and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 ($3 million). It almost matched Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’s $3.2 million pre-sales in China.

The Marvel movie was previously on track to earn more than $20 million at the box office in China during its reissue opening weekend. It is now expected to earn between $14 million and $18 million in its three-day opening weekend at the Chinese box office. It might not beat Avatar’s $21.2 million 2021 re-release debut. However, it has a chance of surpassing Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’s $13.7 million reissue debut as Hollywood’s #2 biggest re-release debut in China.
