Oscars 2024 Best Supporting Actor: The 96th Academy Awards just announced the Best Supporting Actor Award. The actors who were nominated in this category for Oscars 2024 include – Robert Downey Jr for Oppenheimer, Robert De Niro for Killers of the Flower Moon, Sterling K Brown for American Fiction, Ryan Gosling for Barbie and Mark Ruffalo for Poor Things.
The actor who won the Oscars 2024 Best Supporting Actor is Robert Downey Jr for Oppenheimer. He played Lewis Strauss in Christopher Nolan’s one of the most acclaimed films. This is Robert’s first Oscar win. In the past, he was nominated in the same category for Tropic Thunder (2008) and Chaplin in 1993.
In his Oscars 2024 speech, Robert Downey Jr said, “I like to thank my terrible childhood and the Academy, in that order. I’d like to thank my wife Susan Downey. Here’s my little secret: I needed this job more than it needed me. Chris knew it.”
Robert Downey Jr added, “Emma made sure that she surrounded me with one of the great casts and crews of all time – Emily, Cillian. It was fantastic. I stand here before you as a better man because of it. What we do is meaningful, and the stuff that we decide to make is important.” The actor also thanked his publicist in his speech.
The Christopher Nolan directorial also stars Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Florence Pugh, Gary Oldman, David Krumholtz, Josh Hartnett, Josh Peck, Jason Clarke and others.
Along with the Oscars, Robert Downey Jr also won the AACTA International Award, Atlanta Film Critics Circle, Austin Film Critics Association, British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA), Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, Golden Globe Awards and many more. It’s the year where RDJ has won a lot of awards for sure!
