Justin Bieber fans were in for a surprise today as the singer stepped into the shoes of Drake’s Popstar track and muttered the name of his ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez. The music video was released this week and the former was seen enacting Drake’s parts in the video. While lipsync sent Bieber fans into a frenzy, Selena’s fans didn’t take lightly.
The music video began with DJ Khaled requesting Drake to curate a glitzy music video for their collaboration, Popstar. However, the latter called Justin to pretend to be him in the video as a favour. Halfway through the music video, Justin Bieber can be seen walking through a doorway rapping one of Drake’s verses from the song: “Look, Ariana, Selena, my Visa It can take as many charges as it needs to, my girl”
The Sorry Singer’s wife Hailey Bieber also makes a cameo in the music video. Hilariously, American entrepreneur Scooter Braun also makes an appearance as Drake’s manager.

Following the release of the song, Selena Gomez fans or Selenators took to Twitter to slam Justin Bieber to take his ex’s name out of his mouth. One user wrote, “It’s 2020 and Justin still got Selena’s name in his mouth, LITERALLY….” while another user wrote, “Drake: If you’re not comfortable with mouthing Selena’s name it’s oka- Justin: NO. I can do it.”
One twitter user wrote, “justin lip-synced selena’s name in a music video and im not saying it’s a big deal, but if selena did it his fans would already be making threads on how obsessed she is.”
