Being a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is not a privilege given to every actor. From Robert Downey Jr to Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson, we’ve seen the result of it. However, a certain actor who was roped in for Iron Man 2 was just given a time span of 1 hour to decide whether he wants to be a part of the franchise or not. Find out below.
Remember War Machine from Iron Man 2? Yes, we’re talking about Don Cheadle who was lucky enough to be offered the role but was just given a few hours to make his decision. The actor himself opened up about it in a recent interview and how the entire offer came up while he was celebrating his kid’s birthday and juggled between it all.
In a conversation with A.V. Club, Don Cheadle shared, “I was actually at my kid’s birthday party—a laser tag party—and I got a call from my agent, and they said, ‘Hey, so I want to connect you to these Marvel guys. They want to talk to you, but they want to offer you the part.’ I don’t think it was [Kevin] Feige. I don’t know who was on the phone.”

And what happened next? “But they said, ‘Hey, this is the role. We want you to do this. It’s a six-picture deal.’ I was like, ‘What?! Oh, uh, okay…’ And I’m trying to do the math. I’m like, ‘That’s 11 or 12 years. I’m not sure.’ And they’re like, ‘Well, we need to know, because if you’re not saying yes, then we’re gonna move on to the next person. So you’ve got an hour,” further revealed the actor.
