In 1998, Independent did an article titled as “De Niro quizzed over vice ring.” They wrote, “FRENCH police questioned the American film star Robert de Niro in connection with their investigation of a high-class prostitution ring. The actor was taken from the Bristol Hotel, close to the Elysee Palace, where he was staying during the shooting of a film in Paris.”
