The film suffered a few complications after Oliver Reed passed away before the production was finished. It was about a former Roman General who set out to exact vengeance against the corrupt emperor who murdered his family and sent him into slavery.
Ridley Scott’s Gladiator 2 is under Paramount Studios and has expanded drastically. According to The Hollywood Reporter’s source, the film started with an estimated budget of $165 million, but it is now close to a whopping $310 million, more than the MCU flick The Avengers [2012]. For the unversed, The Avengers was made on a reported budget of $220 million. The story will revolve around an adult, Lucius Verus, portrayed by Paul Mescal. Spencer Treat Clarke previously played it. As per Scott, Lucius had been living in the wilderness, and 15 years have passed since the events of the 2000 movie, and even Lucius’ mother believes him to be dead.
