Almost two months after they released their single ‘How You Like That,’ Blackpink are all set to treat fans to another one. And this upcoming launch will surely be one of their most highly-anticipated releases yet. After teasing a new single with a high-profile musician for weeks, the girl squad has finally shared the name of the star – Selena Gomez.
The South Korean girl group confirmed that Selena is their mystery artist for their yet-untitled song releasing on August 28.
This collab announcement comes weeks after the K-media reported that the ‘Come and Get It‘ hitmaker will be collaborating on a single with the group’s members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa. Blackpink’s agency YG Entertainment initially choose to remain tight-lipped about the report, but have now released the new poster featuring Selena Gomez’s name and announced the single’s release date.
In a statement published by Koreaboo, YG said, “These two artists, who have been fans of one another for a long time, have finally made their dreams come true with this collaboration. BLACKPINK expresses their thanks to Selena Gomez for participating in this album and is excited to share the new song with fans.”
Selena is excitement over her collaboration with the South Korean girl group. Sharing the black and pink poster, with her name written in a golden font, on her Instagram, Selena wrote: “Verified So SO excited to announce @BlackPinkOfficial and I have a new song coming out August 28th! The Blackpink/Gomez collab is the second official single from the South Korean girl group’s forthcoming debut full-length Blackpink: The Album. Blackpink: The Album is set to release on October 2, 2020So far, Gomez is the only featured act on the set so far given that the K-Girls haven’t dropped the full tracklist still.
