A24 Pictures dropped a new Civil War trailer on their YouTube channel. The new trailer is 1 minute 23 seconds long. Alex Garland is the director of the dystopian action film. The film stars Kirsten Dunst, Wagner Moura, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Jesse Plemons, Nick Offerman, Cailee Spaeny, Karl Glusman, Sonoya Mizuno and Jonica T Gibbs.
The trailer depicts the future of the United States, where Americans are embroiled in a war against each other. The American government will go to any extent to bring down the separatist Western Forces of Texas and California. The new trailer opens with Nick Offerman, who plays the President of the United States, giving a speech to the public that he will welcome the people from these regions once their illegal secessionist government is deposed.
The Civil War trailer has glimpses of how New York City, known for its life and peace, is full of wrecks. The streets are no longer safe as armed men have taken over them to shoot at the government forces. “Someone is trying to kill us; we’re trying to kill them”, says a man possessing a gun as he shoots at someone. The days that felt like a breath of fresh air in America are now full of dreams and hopes set on fire and are full of distress.
Actress Kirsten Dunst plays a photojournalist in the film. We will be seeing the movie from her character’s perspective. There’s not much shown about Dunst’s character in the new trailer. The previous trailer also focused more on the destruction caused by the Civil War. Alex Garland wants us to give us an idea about how horrific the future would look, if a situation like this arises.
Alex Garland is known for delivering thought-provoking content, and his movies Ex Machina and Annihilation have proved the same in the past. With A24, the expectations are high as the production house has a reputation for delivering quality content. As per the reports, Civil War is the most expensive film the company has produced. One can expect the movie to astound us, considering the cast consists of Nick Offerman, Jesse Plemons, along with Kirsten Dunst.
