Charlize Theron made everyone fall in love with her when she played Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road. But now if the reports are to be believed, Theron will not be playing her most loved character in the dedicated spin-off to be directed by George Miller. This has surely broken many hearts and here is all you need to know.
While Mad Max: Fury Road made a huge buzz around itself, it was the character Furiosa played by Charlize Theron, that made us fall in love with the film. There were reports that the director of the franchise, George Miller has planned a Spin-off film about Furiosa and has even approached Theron to reboot her part.
But turns out that it isn’t true. George Miller confirmed the news of Charlize Theron not being a part of the spin-off. According to reports, Miller considered de-ageing Theron and using CGI like The Irishman but felt the technology is not completely there yet.
In an interview with New York Times, Miller said, “For the longest time, I thought we could just use CG de-ageing on Charlize Theron, but I don’t think we’re nearly there yet. Despite the valiant attempts on ‘The Irishman,’ I think there’s still an uncanny valley. Everyone is on the verge of solving it, particularly Japanese video-game designers, but there’s still a pretty wide valley, I believe.”
He revealed that they have started casting and searching for a girl in her twenties to step into Charlize Theron’s shoes, post getting a green signal from Warner Bros.
