Brie Larson entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2019 as and in Captain Marvel. The film was released one month before the release of Avengers: Endgame, as Larson’s character had an essential role in the Avengers’ fight against Thanos. The film did well at the box office, but unfortunately, the sequel, The Marvels, which came out last year, failed to bring back the same charm. The film’s failure has made Larson’s future in the MCU uncertain, or that is what the actress has implied in her recent interview.

Brie’s film, on an estimated budget of $160 million, earned a whopping $1.13 billion worldwide. The film opened to $153.43 million at the domestic box office on its opening weekend. It explained how Samuel L Jackson’s character Nick Fury lost one of his eyes. The fans discovered that she is one of the most muscular superheroes in the MCU. The sequel further explored her powers, featuring Iman Vellani’s Ms Marvel and Teyonah Parris’s Photon.

The Marvels came out in November last year. Despite a good VFX, some significant actions, and including South Korean heartthrob Park Seo Joon, the movie failed miserably, critically and commercially. However, like all MCU movies, this 2023 feature also had a post-credit scene where Kelsey Grammer’s Beast appeared and Maria Rambeau’s Binary [played by Lashana Lynch]. The Marvels, including Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel, will probably return to the MCU, but when and how has yet to be known.
