Mark Ruffalo revealed that Kevin Feige was about to quit as the Marvel President in 2012 and the reason for the same is very sensitive. He was planning to do this when the film Avengers had released.

In an interaction with The Independent, the Avengers: Endgame actor said, “When we did the first Avengers, Kevin Feige told me, ‘Listen, I might not be here tomorrow’. And he’s like, ‘Ike [Perlmutter, Disney’s largest shareholder at the time] does not believe that anyone will go to a female-starring super movie.’ So if I am still here tomorrow you will know that I won that battle.”

Ruffalo added that Kevin wanting to quit became a turning point for Marvel. The Marvel President wanted black superheroes, women superheroes, LGBT superheroes in their future films. It was Kevin who changed the whole Marvel universe.
