Avengers: Endgame wasn’t short of any surprising and shocking twists and turns. Fans are still mourning over Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr) and Black Widow’s (Scarlett Johansson) death. If that wasn’t enough Chris Evans’ Captain America gave up on his superpowers at the end of the film.

Fans were shocked to see an old Captain America. But that’s not it. When Cap gave away his vibranium shield to Falcon (Anthony Mackie), some fans were perplexed as they thought Sebastian Stan’s Bucky would get it. Now, Captain America: The Winter Soldier explained why Cap gave his shied to Falcon and not his character.

The Avengers: Endgame actor told The Hollywood Reporter, “Steve is saying to Bucky, ‘You’re going to go and do that, too. I’m not going to put this thing on you. We’re both going to live our lives — the lives that were actually taken from us back in the ‘40s when we enlisted.’ So, that’s where I felt they were at the end of the movie. I don’t think there’s a desire or any conflicted thoughts about taking on that mantle.”
