Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, starring Jason Momoa in the lead, was released in the theatres last year in December, and the film is all set to stream on OTT. The movie went through a lot of controversies, and with the shifting power in the DC studios, it received a lot of negative attention. However, the film did pretty well at the box office. It is the sequel to 2018’s Aquaman and tells the story of Arthur Curry, who goes on a quest to prevent a war between the land and ocean. The Conjuring and Insidious star Patrick Wilson appeared as Orm, Arthur’s half-brother. The brotherly bond was explored more in the sequel, which was directed by James Wan. The sequel also had Amber Heard, who reprised her role as Mera. However, her part was largely cut from the movie because of her defamation trial against her ex-husband, Johnny Depp, and all the social media negativity.

When & Where To Watch Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom?

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom was released in the theatres on December 22, 2023, and after just two months, the film will be streaming on the OTT platform. According to Variety’s report, it will be available on Max starting February 27. The film has earned a whopping $433.5 million worldwide and is DCEU’s highest-grossing film in almost five years after Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam. It was reportedly made on an estimated budget of $205 million.

Before Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, the DC film Blue Beetle was released in August 2023. It was made available on Max in November, having a gap of around three months. The Flash, starring Ezra Miller, also came on the OTT platform after a two-month window.

What is Aquaman 2 about?

For the unversed, in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, Aquaman and Orm join forces to fight against Black Manta, who wields the power of the mystic Black Trident. Manta seeks revenge for his father’s death and plans to kill Arthur’s family.

Yahiya Abdul-Mateen II played Black Manta’s role, while Nicole Kidman reprised her role as Atlanna. The film also featured Dolph Lundgren, Randall Park, Temuera Morrison, and others.
