Amber Heard has found herself in an extended legal soup as the court has given Johnny Depp the green signal to his $50 million defamation suit. Since then, reports have been doing the rounds that her role in DC extended Universe’s Aquaman franchise will either be removed or limited. While many thought it is impossible, given that she remains one of the prominent characters, here’s how the plan could completely be brought into place.
The upcoming Aquaman 2 has already grabbed a lot of attention as fans all across the world have been signing petitions to remove Amber Heard from the franchise. Now that pictures of Amber getting cozy with Tesla creator Elon Musk have been leaked too, this further makes things complicated for her existence in the DC extended universe. Now, a recent report suggests that Arthur Curry will witness an endpoint to his lead role, and may retire as the hero post Aquaman 3.
Yes, you heard that right! A source close to We Got This Covered reveals the same as, “Arthur will continue to serve as king but he’ll hand the role of Aquaman over to Kaldur’ahm AKA Aqualad. Kaldur will then be the new face of the franchise. Of course, this plotline is inspired by the recent Young Justice: Outsiders, the third season of the DC Universe animated series, in which the same switchover played out. And, as in The New 52 comics, Kaldur will be portrayed as openly gay, with sources saying the intention is to find an openly gay actor to play him.”
