What kind of initial do you expect for ‘Dabangg’?

– Probably, the best for a Salman Khan starrer. The film’s trailers have been liked immensely. What’s more, the film will release on Eid. Salman and Eid make for a heady combination.

Do paid articles in the press about stars at the time of release of their films or about the films themselves help the box-office business of those films?

– They are definitely not worth the money spent. But some insecure industry people seem to think, they do help!

PVR Pictures releases so many films every year. Most of the films either bomb at the box-office or entail losses. How does the company manage to bear so much loss?

– That’s true of most other corporates. The only difference is that PVR releases many small films too and, therefore, its number of releases per year is bigger. Corporates have public funds and can tide over their losses because of their deep pockets.
