Vijay and Sridevi starrer Puli started off decently and mainly performed its best in the South circuits The film faced stiff competition from Singh Is Bliing in Mumbai and other western circuits. Puli‘s overseas performance was quite decent other than USA which recorded comparatively low business.
The film after raking in 35 crores over its opening weekend, added more moolah to its kitty. Tamil Nadu recorded the best business for the film where as Kerala and Telangana circuits were decent too. According to reports, the film has collected approximately 64 crores* worldwide.
The film received mixed reviews from critics and the film’s performance too is quite lower than Vijay’s last film ‘Katthi’. It also stars Shruti Haasan, Hansika Motwani and Sudeep in key roles.
