Situation didn’t really improve for Tum Bin 2 over the weekend as collections stayed on to be really low. With just 2.5 crore* coming in, the writing is clear on the wall. The film has actually seen some of the lowest weekend collections when compared to the other romantic musicals released in 2016:
Sanam Teri Kasam – 4.66 crore
Do Lafzon Ki Kahani – 3.74 crore
Loveshhuda – 2.65 crore
Tum Bin 2 – 2.5 crore*
None of the other mentioned films could turn into plus affairs and they were all mid-level budget productions. In comparison, the budget of Tum Bin 2 is comparatively lesser, especially when one considers the returns it has managed through sales of satellite and music rights.
Nonetheless, the fact remains that Bollywood would now look forward to Befikre as its next romantic musical entertainer in the offering. The Aditya Chopra flick is pitched at an altogether different level and the star presence of Ranveer Singh would be able to answer the question around whether demonetization is indeed turning out to be a demon no less for Bollywood Box Office.
