Tillu Square, starring Siddhu Jonnalagadda and Anupama Parameswaran, has exceeded all the pre-release expectations and has displayed a rocking run during its first weekend. Not just in India but even in the overseas market, the film is already on its way to emerge as a huge blockbuster. In the latest development, the milestone of 50 crores gross has already been crossed at the worldwide box office. Keep reading to know more!
Reception of Tillu Square
Directed by Mallik Ram, the film is a sequel to 2022’s Telugu hit, DJ Tillu. Upon its arrival on 29th March, the film opened to positive to mixed reviews from critics. However, among ticket-buying audiences, it is enjoying positive reactions so far. Apart from the performances of the lead cast, praises are flowing in for the film’s humor quotient and music.
Tillu Square at the worldwide box office
In India, Tillu Square opened with more than double the number of DJ Tillu’s day 1. Each day, from Friday to Sunday, the film did a business of over 10 crores, and at the end of the opening weekend, a collection of 33 crores net was amassed at the Indian box office. Including the taxes, the gross collection stands at 38.94 crores.
In the overseas market, too, the sequel to DJ Tillu took a sensational start, and as per the last update, a collection of 19 crores gross has been raked in. Combining both Indian and overseas gross, the total stands at 57.94 crores gross at the worldwide box office.
With such numbers, Tillu Square has already surpassed the lifetime collection of DJ Tillu. For those who don’t know, DJ Tillu had earned 31 crores gross at the worldwide box office.
The next target for Tillu Square
The Siddhu Jonnalagadda & Anupama Parameswaran starrer is enjoying solid momentum among audiences, and if today, the film manages to show a drop of less than 50%, it’ll be considered a good result. From here, the mark of 100 crores gross looks like a cakewalk, and considering the buzz all around, the film must aim to hit the milestone of 125 crores gross or 150 crores gross.
