The Shaukeens starring Akshay Kumar, Lisa Haydon, Annu Kapoor, Piyush Mishra and Anupam Kher in lead roles released today. The comedy drama is a remake of the 80s classic ‘Shaukeens‘ directed by Basu Chatterjee and has released with a good screen count of 2000 screens.
The films has started off low on the first day and the morning shows have shown 15-20% footfalls at multiplexes in metros. However, the fact that Akshay Kumar has a good fan following overall, the film is expected to do well in mass circuits compared to urban cities. The film needs a good word of mouth publicity to make good business in the weekend.
No doubt, The Shaukeens has a good buzz, thanks to the film’s music which has caught on well so far. Moreover, Akshay Kumar is stealing the limelight with his much-talked about cameo as he plays himself in the film and that is enough to drive people to theaters.
