The biblical animation The King of Kings has hit its first significant milestone at the worldwide box office. It is still benefitting from the Easter holiday, as it witnessed an impressive hike on its second Monday. The film has been embraced by the target audience and keeps earning winning numbers at the box office. It was made on a modest budget of $15 million and collected almost four times that worldwide. It has been released in limited places and international locations. The film was directed by Seong-ho Jang, and through a father’s vivid storytelling, a boy journeys through Jesus’ life, from humble beginnings to ultimate sacrifice, and he discovers the transformative power of faith.
The King of Kings received an A+ on CinemaScore, and it has reportedly benefitted the most from Easter Monday in North America. The animated feature grossed a spectacular $2.1 million on its second Monday, a spectacular hike of +27.5% from last Monday. Oscar Isaac and Kenneth Branagh’s faith-based movie has grossed over three times its modest budget in the US alone. According to Luiz Fernando‘s report, the movie has hit the $47.7 million cume in North America.
