The Jungle Book is continuing its fantabulous run. The film brought in 7.60 crore more on Monday, and with this, the collections now stand at 48.07 crore. This makes the film one of the highest grossers of 2016 in four days flat. In fact, its opening weekend [40.19 crore] was next only to Airlift [44.3 crore] and now the manner in which the weekdays are performing, quite a few more records are set to be broken.
This is pretty much visible from the fact that it has already gone past the lifetime collections of many other biggies that have released in the year so far. Another film which is currently in the running is Ki And Ka, and that brought in 1.01 crore more, hence amounting to 46.82 crore in collections.
Meanwhile, this is how comparison of The Jungle Book with the lifetime collections of other biggies in 2016 looks like:
Airlift – 129 crore
Neerja – 75.52 crore (still running)
Kapoor And Sons – 71.57 crore (still running)
The Jungle Book – 48.07 crore (still running)
Ki And Ka – 46.82 crore (still running)
Wazir – 42 crore
Ghayal Once Again – 40 crore
As things stand today, The Jungle Book will be next only to Airlift in the final tally and would stay on at the Number Two spot before Shah Rukh Khan’s Fan comes at the top.
