It was yet another good day for Shaitaan in theatres as 3.18 crores more came in. Considering the fact that Monday was 5.12 crores, the drop is just around 40%, and that’s a good hold. Yes, had the number been closer to 3.50 crores, then it would have been even better. However, Yodha is a new release that is taking away audiences, and then, at multiplexes, there is also a choice available in the form of Kung Fu Panda 4.
What’s heartening about the film is that across the country, it’s collecting the most moolah while in its second week. There is a steady inflow of audiences, which further goes on to show that it was not just about the initial momentum. Even now, word of mouth has been good enough for the audiences to keep pushing the film further and further. When something like this happens to a film that also has the presence of a superstar, then there is no stopping its run in theatres.
The Vikas Bahl-directed film has now reached 109.19 crores, and the second week will close at around 120 crores mark. This would bring the Ajay Devgn starrer closer and closer to the next film in line, Singham Returns, which had collected 140 crores in its lifetime. While that milestone will certainly be crossed, it would be challenging to go past the lifetime score of Total Dhamaal (154.23 crores).
