The unthinkable has happened. On its release, Pyaar Ka Punchnama (12 crore) had collected just about reasonably well from theaters, only to become cult on home video and satellite. Now four years later, the sequel has turned out to be a HIT in two days flat. After a very good first day (6.8 crore), it showed further escalation on Saturday (7.6 crore), hence taking its total to 14.4 crore.
With this, the lifetime total of Pyaar Ka Punchnama has been comfortably surpassed in two days flat, and the film is bound to do quite well when it comes to lifetime collections.

The film would be hit by the fact that today is an India v/s South Africa ODI cricket match, hence any further growth in collections is ruled out. However, even if Friday collections are matched (which is expected), the Luv Ranjan directed affair would easily cross 21 crore mark, which would be superb for a mid-budget outing like this.
If it indeed manages to do that, Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 would be challenging the likes of Hero (21.2 crore) and Baahubali (Hindi – 22 crore).
Note: All collections as per production and distributor sources
