New releases of the week, Mumbai Can Dance Saala and Take It Easy, could not even survive their first weekend and were disasters on the day of release itself. Meanwhile, PK continued to rule for third week flat. In the process, it managed to cross 320 crore mark, which is huge by all standards.
The film continued to be strong on weekdays well with more than 3 crore coming on each of the days, something which hasn’t been seen for a very long time.
While the Aamir Khan starrer has pretty much seen an uninterrupted run for three weeks, it would face massive challenge from Tevar now. The number of screens as well as shows would go down from today and audience too would have a choice to choose a new film in theaters.
Still, the fact remains that Rajkumar Hirani has established his supremacy all over again as a director of repute who has a fan following of his own. He is also one of the rare filmmakers to have enjoyed four successes in a row, something that was achieved last by Indra Kumar more than two decades back when he scored with Dil, Beta, Raja and Ishq. If Hirani manages to score a biggie with his fifth release as well, he would indeed make history!
