Neerja starring Sonam Kapoor in the lead role, took a good start at the domestic box office. The film which received immense praises from the critics as well as audiences, made a collection of 22.01 crores over its opening weekend in India.
Neerja showed a great upward trend thanks to the positive word of mouth and has become the highest opening day grosser of a solo Sonam Kapoor lead film.
The film has found a great start in the overseas circuits too. The film collected $1.56 million i.e 10.70 crores. This has become the highest collection for a women-centric film.
Neerja has performed brilliantly in USA-Canada and UAE-GCC circuits.
