Yesterday, Madha Gaja Raja came out of all the benefits it enjoyed in the first eight days. Release amid minimal expectations, the film unexpectedly turned out to be the first clean hit of Kollywood in 2025. Recently, it also secured the super-hit verdict. Directed by Sundar C, who previously helmed Aranmanai 4, the Tamil action comedy struggled for its theatrical release due to several legal issues. Finally, after 11 years, it hit the big screen on January 12. Amid an absence of big Kollywood releases, the film enjoyed the benefit of Pongal holidays and a weekend.
After the festive season and the successful weekend, Madha Gaja Raja had the first litmus test yesterday, i.e., on day 9. As per Sacnilk, it displayed a decent hold and earned an estimated 1.30 crores. As compared to the opening day of 3 crores, the film dropped by 56.66%. Including it, the total collection at the Indian box office stands at an impressive 37.90 crore net.
