Word of mouth has started doing the trick for Madgaon Express. While this is what went in its favour for the first couple of weeks as well, it’s the kind of resurgence that’s being seen in the third week which is truly remarkable. If the weekend was good enough when collections doubled up from 0.71 crore on Friday to 1.43 crore on Sunday, it’s the weekday hold that’s making its run even better.
This can well be seen from the racy that while Monday saw hardly any drop in collections when compared to Friday when 0.62 crore more came in, it’s Tuesday collections which are an eye opener. That’s because the collections have not just gone ahead of Monday, which is impressive by itself, they are also better than even Friday. This is the kind of sustained momentum that shows that a film has been accepted and one just waits to see how it does today, when Maidaan arrives in the evening, and then tomorrow, when Bade Moyan Chote Miyan joins in as well.

There would be a jolt felt for sure to begin with but then soon enough Madgaon Express could well settle down with low, but consistent collections on days to come. All it needs is those 25-30 lakhs to trickle in on a daily basis and if it can do that for one week from here then it could go on to have an even longer run post that due to lack of any new major releases. Currently, the film stands at 25.13 crores and it would be aiming for 30 crores lifetime from here.
