On its last leg, the Breakout horror hit Longlegs has passed a massive global milestone, and it’s a hair’s breadth away (if quantified as half a million) from making history as the biggest Indie Horror film of the last decade worldwide. Right from the start, The supernatural procedural starring Nicholas Cage and Scream Queen Maika Monroe has superseded all expectations, becoming the year’s breakout horror hit.

Directed by Osgood Perkins, Longlegs, with a production budget of $10 million, has overtaken every past Neon film, including I, Tonya, and Parasite, to become the studio’s biggest earner at the domestic box office. It didn’t stop there. Long Legs also surpassed one of the rival studios, A24’s biggest horror hit, Hereditary, with its $80 million global take. It is also the highest-grossing indie horror film at the domestic box office.

However, it’s half a million short of governing the title at the worldwide box office. After spending five weeks in theaters, Longlegs passed the $90 million mark worldwide. It has earned $72 million domestically and $17.5 million overseas, for a global cume of $91.5 million.
