Roy starring Arjun Rampal, Ranbir Kapoor and Jacqueline Fernandez in lead roles pulled off a good first weekend. The film started off well on the first day and kept up a decent pace over the weekend. However, due to India – Pakistan World Cup Match, this romantic drama performed low in the morning and evening shows. Nevertheless, thanks to the night and late evening shows, the film fetched 7.12 crores on Sunday. It now stands with a total collection of 28.68 crores at the domestic box office.

The romantic thriller did not receive favorable responses from the critics yet the film seems to have fared well. Roy has recorded the second highest first weekend collections after Akshay Kumar’s Baby. Considering that the cricket World Cup has commenced and since yesterday was a crucial India vs Pakistan match, the film’s morning and noon shows did not record much growth although the film held up well for the late evening and night shows.
Roy seems to be heading decently towards its recovery. If it keeps up a good momentum in the first week, the film may become a hit.
