Yet another Hollywood film has done good business at the box office in India. Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw did come from Fast & Furious franchise but then it was more of a spin-off, what with the biggest star of the enterprise, Vin Diesel, missing from the scene. That could well have impacted the audience footfalls in a major way but credit to the manner in which the film was marketed in India, the collections still stayed on to be good right through.
The film has collected 40 crores* in its opening weekend which is a very good number. In fact one would have actually expected an even higher number, considering the audience word of mouth as well as critic appreciation is good. However, what the film has gathered so far is a very impressive total as well, more so since it has managed to do that even when there are other films like The Lion King and Super 30 in the running.
