Dull Opening For Citylights & Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi

The new releases Citylights and Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi opened to a dull occupancy. Both the films witnessed a low occupancy in the 5-10% range for morning shows. Clearly, the films failed to create much pre-release buzz and thus may have seen a lesser footfall in the morning shows.

Citylights starring Raj Kumar Rao and Patralekha is expected to perform better considering its critics responses and also the because it saw a better opening compared to Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi for morning shows. However, Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi being a youth centric drama, might pick up slightly by evening.

Both the films have to rely on word of mouth publicity to increase its chances of picking up over the weekend. The only glitch for the films may be last week’s release Heropanti which is still making profits and getting good responses at the cinema houses.
