Don 2 Makes Rs. 1.5 Cr In Week 4; Players’ Losing Battle At BO

Players fought a losing battle in its second week all over. Collections, which had already come tumbling down after the first weekend, went from bad to worse in the second week.

Don 2 added barely a crore-and-a-half to its kitty in the 4th week.

None of the releases of January 13 could really work their magic at the box-office. Ghost was, comparatively speaking, the best of the lot but even its collections weren’t good enough. The weekend figures of Ghost were at least palatable but the drop was conspicuous from Monday onwards. The horror tag helped Ghost to an extent in the first weekend but collections came crashing down from the fourth day onwards. As a result, the fair grosses of the first three days were, to an extent, offset by the dull collections of the last four days of the week.

Chaalis Chauraasi failed to make any mark whatsoever at the box-office in its first week in spite of a team of fine actors in its cast. There’s a difference between great actors and great attractors. Naseeruddin Shah, Atul Kulkarni, Kay Kay Menon and Ravi Kishan just could not attract the audience to the cinemas because of which the film remained a complete non-starter.

Sadda Adda proves a debacle. It opened to miserable houses in the first week, which, in most cinemas was also its last week!

Tutiya Dil lived up to its title and indeed broke hearts with its dismal collections in the first week.

Collections of Darkest Hour – Maut Ki Aandhi (dubbed) and its original English version, The Darkest Hour, dropped quite dramatically in the second week.
