This week’s release, Parmanu surprised one and all with its performance at the box office. The film, starring John Abraham in lead, was off to a fair start at the Box-Office following which the biz escalated over the opening weekend to help it record a respectable weekend total of 20 crores plus. While the critic reviews were mixed majorly due to the political stand taken in the film, the audience word of mouth is on the positive side which is visible from the hold of the film on Monday i.e. Day 4.

The film raked in approximately 4.10 crores on its Monday, taking the four day total to Rs 24.88 crores. An interesting point to note here was the fast that Monday collections of the film were just marginally lower than Friday, and the minor drop happened mainly because of the slash in ticket rates. The movie is now looking to record an opening week in the range of 34 to 35 crores, and is eyeing to breach past the 50 crores mark at the Box-Office over the lifetime run.

Talking about the economics, the film has been distributed in India by Pooja Entertainment on commission basis. The distribution company headed by Vashu Bhagnani charged a commission of 7 to 8% to release the film and given the deal structure, the film is already a profitable venture for them. Coming to the producers, the film has been made on a budget of 35 crores, out of which 27 crores have been recovered from the sale of Satellite, Digital and Music rights. Before the release, the film was in a deficit of 8 crores, however that has made good merely by the 3 day theatrical run of the film. So far, after removing the chunk of amount taken away by distributor (Vashu Bhagnani) as commission and Exhibitors (Theatre Owners) as their share, the producers of the film have got 11.20 crores as the theatrical share, which has resulted in a net profit of 3.20 crores.
