Mardaani Box Office: Rani Mukerji’s 2014 cop-drama Mardaaniwas a sleeper hit of that year. The film didn’t release with enough pre-release buzz and hence was a low opener. But since the audience’s word of mouth worked in its favour, it sustained well and ended up doing a lifetime business of 36 crores.
Though 36 crores lifetime wasn’t a big deal even in 2014, it was really good considering the low budget of the film and its opening day business.
Five years later in 2019, the film got a sequel as well and even it proved to be a hit. With a business of 47.51 crores, Mardaani 2 helped the franchise grow and now everyone is waiting for Mardaani 3.
