When Fighter arrived earlier this year, it was an event release with Hrithik Roshan in the lead. A couple of months later, arrived Shaitaan, and it became hot enough with Ajay Devgn bringing his first release of the year. Then, there were many other notable releases of the quarter as well, with some hits and many misses. However, till a week before its arrival, not many would have put their money on Crew, not just surpassing them all when it came to the best opening or weekend of the year but also joining the likes of Fighter and Shaitaan in the Top-3.
Well, this has happened indeed for the Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Kriti Sanon starrer, what with the film not just opening much bigger than expectations but also staying consistently good right through the weekend. As a result, Crew also managed to go past the opening weekend collections of the next best, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, which had collected 29.55 crores after seeing constant growth during its first three days. It is also ahead of Article 370, which is only the fifth Hindi release of 2024 to have scored a weekend of over 25 crores.
