Chennai Express‘ overseas box office performance in its first week has been commendable. This Rohit Shetty directorial is working off fabulously in the global circuits mainly for the charm that Shah Rukh Khan governs over the overseas audiences. Being a family entertainer, filled with humorous gags and Deepika Padukone’s crackling performance, audiences in the international arena are absolutely wooed by the film.
In its U.K circuit, the film made a business of about 12.50 crores in its week 1. In the U.S.A and Canada circuit, the film collected 18.50 crores in the first week and in U.A.E -G.C.C circuit, the film made 18.50 crores.
The film, accumulating the figures from key circuits alone, made a cumulative collection of 53 crores in its first week that is overwhelming given it has so far only seen a week’s run globally.
Figures from other crucial circuits are still being compiled but overall the film’s week 1 fare has been stupendous!
