In current times where opening day numbers are monitored like never before, there is a record that Karan Johar is all set to enjoy in a couple of days from now. With Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, he is all set to enjoy the highest ever collections for a film directed by him. His last release was Student of the Year [2012] and that film had brought in 9.25 crore on the opening day. Before that it was My Name Is Khan [2010] and the first day numbers were 8.25 crore.

Of course if one accounts for inflation, the numbers would look much bigger today. Still, on absolute numbers basis, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is set to be Karan’s first film where he would be hitting the double digit number record.

Pritam has belted out five good songs in a row already (with one more to follow) and that has further elevated the fortunes of the Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan film. The popularity of songs coupled with the fact that not just youth but even those in the mid-age have warmed up to the film should help this Fox film take a good opening at the Box Office.
