Jazbaa has enjoyed a decent opening weekend at the Box Office. While the opening day was fair at the 4.23 crore mark, hence surpassing NH10 (3.35 crore) which belonged to similar genre, the collections saw good escalation on Saturday (5.49 crore) and Sunday as well. As a result, the opening weekend stands around the 15.24 crore mark.
In the process, the film has done better than other films with female central protagonist, be it Bipasha Basu’s Alone (15 crore), Sonam Kapoor’s Dolly Ki Doli (15 crore), Sunny Leone’s Ek Paheli Leela (12 crore) and Anushka Sharma’s NH10 (13.25 crore). It is behind a much lighter and universal Piku (25.22 crore) though, which featured Deepika Padukone and also Irrfan, who is a common factor in the two films.
For Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, this is much positive start when compared to her last couple of Hindi films – Guzaarish (13.78 crore) and Action Replayy (14.87), and it is pretty much expected that the first week collections would be better too.
As for the Hindi dubbed version of Rudhramadevi, it just couldn’t see a good release for itself and the collections were hard to come by as well. The film was not even reviewed and the audience too stayed away. Trade estimates the weekend collections to be at maximum in 1-2 crore range.
