Ghayal Once Again has seen a decent opening at the Box Office. The franchise factor ensured that the single screen audience did lap up the film with reasonably good footfalls coming in. Though at multiplexes the response was quite low right through the day, it was a different story at the single screens.
As a result, the film collected 7.2 crore on the opening day, which is on par with what was expected as a bare minimum number. Since the film has been made on a good budget, these were the kind of collections that were needed for it to gain momentum over the weekend.

The good news though is that the film has done well when compared to last few Sunny Deol releases*. Here is how the list stands:

Ghayal Once Again [2016] – 7.2 crore
Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 [2013] – 7.2 crore
Singh Saab The Great [2013] – 5.2 crore
The film’s reports are better than Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 and Singh Saab The Great, which means the overall numbers would come out higher. Of course all around good reviews would have helped the cause and then the word of mouth would have taken it forward. However, since the reviews are largely mixed and so is the word of mouth, the film would have a cautious run through the weekend as that would set the stage for how the weekdays would function.
* I Love NY hasn’t been included since it was a delayed release. Dishkiyaoon had Sunny Deol in an extended special appearance.
Note: All collections as per production and distributor sources
